Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Donji Stupnik, Croatia

We are looking for an experienced mechanical engineer to join INETEC’s Research and Development Division. In this role, you will lead the development of advanced robotic systems. If you enjoy solving complex engineering challenges and driving new technologies forward, you’ll feel right at home.

What will you do?

  • Provide technical leadership in robotics projects, drawing on extensive experience in design, research and integration of robotic systems.
  • Lead multiple projects, ensuring alignment with technical requirements, timelines and budget constraints.
  • Develop conceptual designs for manipulators and robotic systems, using state-of-the-art engineering approaches based on the latest research and innovations.
  • Oversee prototype development, testing and final assembly, applying novel solutions to enhance system performance and functionality.
  • Prepare and guide the creation of technical and project documentation in line with industry standards, regulations and internal guidelines
  • Participate in field testing activities, especially for manipulators that use components to whose development you contributed.
  • Optimize system construction by researching new methods and tools to improve precision, efficiency and reduce production costs.
  • Actively conduct research and development (R&D) in robotics, identifying new technologies, innovative solutions and methodologies to advance robotic systems.
  • Analyze and investigate new technologies, materials and innovations that can enhance robotic systems and industry capabilities.
  • Test prototypes, provide feedback for design improvements and resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams (electronics, mechanics, software) to ensure seamless integration across all system components.
  • Manage procurement and communication with suppliers, including ordering key components.
  • Engage in sales-related activities.
  • Monitor and apply relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Provide support to junior engineers through mentorship and technical guidance.

 
Who are we looking for?

We would be glad to meet a candidate with the following experience and skills:

  • A minimum of a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferably in mechanical design or product development).
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience on development projects.
  • Advanced understanding, analysis, optimization and creation of incoming technical project requirements.
  • Advanced understanding, creation and approval of technical documentation.
  • Advanced understanding of product design and development, as well as the optimization of designs through specific technological processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer-aided design software programs (e.g. AutoCAD Inventor, CATIA, PTC, SolidWorks) and the MS Office suite (MS Project), as well as project management.
  • Advanced understanding of industry standards and regulations.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • A structured, solution-oriented approach, comfortable collaborating across disciplines.
